Le visite di amici o conoscenti sono sempre state una boccata di ossigeno in questa esperienza Americana. Mi hanno sempre fatto sentire vicino all'Italia...e cosi' e' stata la visita di Gabriele, in Settembre 2011.
Una vacanza per lui importante per due motivi, il primo perche' rappresentava la sua prima volta in America... il secondo perche' non prendeva una vacanza cosi lunga da molto tempo.
Mentre io ero ligio al lavoro, Gabriele ha visitato per il lungo e il largo San Francisco... ah scusate ancora non ve l'ho presentato :) eccolo davanti al mitico hamburger !
Dopo i primi giorni di adattamento siamo arrivati ad un compromesso.
Presi due giorni di ferie, saremmo andati a Las Vegas (per me non la prima volta) ma anche al Gran Canyon che volevo vedere prima di partire per l'Italia.
Ovviamente perche' Las Vegas? Per tentare la fortuna!
Non avendo vinto e non avendo potuto comprare un jet privato, abbiamo noleggiato una macchina e abbiamo iniziato a dirigerci verso il Gran Canyon. Qualche ora di guida accompagnati da questo paesaggio...
... e voila' eccoci arrivati alla meta. La lunga attesa e' stata poi ripagata dalla maestosita' del posto. Impressionante!
Fatto un giro sul Canyon, scattate quelle decine di foto si decide di andare a cena. Siccome la giornata era stata lunga, abbandoniamo l'idea di andare in discoteca :) e ci dirigiamo verso il cottage per prendere possesso dei letti. Tra l'altro io mi sarei alzato presto per andare a vedere l'alba sul Canyon, una delle cose raccomandate. Sarei andato da solo :) Qualcuno sarebbe stato ipnotizzato da Angry Birds e avrebbe giocato fino ad ora tarda :)
Morale IlCesco alle ore 5 e qualche cosa si alza, non spaventatevi per la faccia ok? Avevo sonno ...pero' confermo che l'alba sul Canyon merita una levataccia.
Il viaggio si concludera' con il rientro a San Francisco e altre piacevoli serate.

PS. Non ero molto sicuro di voler pubblicare questo post, oppure di farlo in maniera diversa... alla fine ho deciso di raccontare l'esperienza come e' andata senza lasciarmi condizionare dagli eventi successi. In bocca al lupo Gabriele.

I have always been happy to have friends visiting during my American experience. I had a feeling to be like home and that happened when Gabriele came to San Francisco, in September 2011
A very important vacation for him for two main reasons. It was the first time for him in the USA and it had been a long time without a long vacation.
While I was working like the ideal employee, Gabriele explored deeply San Francisco... Ops sorry I forgot to introduce him to you :) Here he is, excited to have his famous American hamburger!
We found an agreement after few days he was there.
I took two days off and we decided to come back to Las Vegas (not the first time for me) and a trip to the Gran Canyon, one of the site I would love to visit before moving back to Italy.
Why Vegas? But of course to become billionare!
Not that time so no chance to buy a private jet, we decided to rent a car to get to the Gran Canyon! Some hours driving acrss this landscape...
... and we made it. The long drive was totally rewareded by an amazing view. I was really impressed.
We walked along the Canyon, we took many pictures and we had dinner. After a so long drive we decided to skip a disco night :) and we preferred to lay on our beds.
By the way I planned to wake up very early to see the sunrise, a suggested thing to do there.
I already knew I'd go by myself :) Gabriele has been fully concentrated to play Angry Birds for long time during the night :)
Here I'm. I woke up at 5am so don't be scared ok? I was very sleepy... but I agree, the Sunrise at the Gran Canyon has to be seen.
Gabriele's vacation will continue with some other days in San Francisco and very nice fun nights.
Canyon? I love it!

PS. I wasn't sure to publish or not this post, or maybe writing something different... at the end I decided to write what happened in real without being influenced on what happened afterward.
